Newbies and prizes
Welcome to two new paddlers racing for The Sharks at Langham Farm, Alistair Gifford-Moore in Men’s K1 of Saturday and Rowena Tendenicca in Women’s K1 on Sunday.
Saturday saw Liah Boyle win the Ladies K1 Division 4 event, with a result that would have been respectable in Division 3, however, an inquorate event means she was not promoted.
Whilst on Sunday Rowena Tendenicca came second on her debut day, welcome to The Sharks.
We also welcome Alistair Gifford-Moore, coming 11th on his debut on Saturday.
Division 3 Ladies saw Jasmin Uhlhorn maintain her place as The Sharks top lady paddler taking 7th place in Division 3. on Saturday, collecting 171 points.
Susan Templeton came 15th (66 points), also only racing Sunday.
Fleur Harman, was 19th (13 points) on Sunday.
Neal Underwood race Division 3 C1 on Saturday and took 5th place (50 points).
85-year-old (yes, eighty-five) Richard Davis raced Men’s Division 3 on both Saturday (13th – 63 points) and Sunday (10th and 89 points).
On Sunday Kurt White raced Men’s Division 3 K1 and came 12th and picked up 54 points.
Danny Dalrymple took fourth place in the Vets Men’s K1 on Saturday, picking up 169 points and on Sunday he moved up to second place earning 143 points.
Slalom Canoeing is a true sport for all, as we mentioned that Richard Davis is 85 years old and still paddling, so is Avis Noot from Bristol, they are pictured here with Josephine Bates, who at 6 years-old was the youngest paddler there (her twin sister Annabelle was camera shy). You really have no excuse!
We would very much like to thank Frome Canoe Club for hosting an really great event, we will be returning July, for more of your vegan food. Excellent that you cater for all diets, really appreciated.
