Another wet weekend, but this did give some decent water for the slalom, which was challenging. The last slalom of the season and was not going to see any promotions, but the chance to vie for Top Shark paddler and to get a good bib number for next season.
Men’s Division 2 Slalom K1
And that accolade goes to James Read, whom was 11th on Saturday, collecting 237 points and 5th on Sunday gaining another 357 points giving him a season’s total of 1,574 and placing him 28th in Men’s National Division 2. Well done James.
Jacob Simpson only raced on Saturday and came 16th which earns a total of 105 points and leaves him the second highness ranked Shark paddler this year, with a total of 775 points and is ranked 64th.
At 69th position Alex Aldred is the third highest ranked paddler for The Sharks, he raced both days and came 9th on Saturday (289 points) and 12th on Sunday (107 points). He finished the season with a total of 735 points.
Khaleel Ziauddin was the 4th Best Shark this year and is ranked 83rd with 554 points, he came 14th on Saturday (105 points) and 13th on Sunday (71 points).
Neal Underwood finished the season in 106th place with 313 points, he started his run on Saturday but did not finish so did not collect any points.
Men’s Division 3 Slalom C1
James Read also was top Shark Canoe paddler, being ranked 14th in Men’s Division 3 C1, with a total of 631 points, he raced on Saturday and came3rd and collected 125 points.
Alex Aldred raced on Sunday and came third, collecting 42 points giving him a season’s tally of 581 and 16th place.
Neal Underwood did not race the weekend but came 20th over all with 414 points.
Ladies Division 2 K1
Our top lady this season was Amelia Combes who is ranked 50th in Ladies Division 2 K1, she has 402 points from four events.
Ladies’ Division 3 K1
Ranked 54th in Division 3 is Alex Judge with 197 points from 3 events.
And just one place below in 55th place was Mel Moore with 193 points from just two events.
C2 Slalom
Our top C2 pair this year was Mel Moore and Rick Moore, who ended the season with a national ranking of 23rd with a total of 171 points from just two events. The were 7th best mixed crew in the UK
Well done to all our paddlers, Slalom season starts at the End of February 2020.
