The Outline Plan
In order to minimise the risk of the spread of Covid-19, we will be running the canoe classes in the morning (with the Vets) and teh kayak classes in the afternoon. This will also enable people who are doing both classes to get sufficient rest between events. The exact timetable is subject to variation depending on the number of entries and the water conditions on the day.
Entries can be made online at: Canoe Slalom Entries Online. If space permits we will take entries on the day, but we would prefer people to pre-enter to minimise contact and to keep our sport safe.
There will be organised practice and only complete runs of the course will be permitted at all times, even during free practice times. We ask people to keep safe distances on the water whilst waiting for their turn.
Results cards will be published on this web page to avoid people gathering round a results board.
Shepperton Slalom Canoe Club’s Catering Team will be able to provide hot drinks for a donation, this is to reduce contact, please note there will be no food available, you will need to make your own arrangements.
Camping will be available free of charge. However, you will be expected to do this pithing current restrictions.
The Changing Rooms will not be available, however, the toilet will be on a strict only one person in the building at a time. There is also a pay for facility on the other side of the lock.
We will have sanitiser on site at our control desk, but we ask you to bring your own (to be honest you should be doing this whenever you canoe anyway).
There will be a strict controls as to where you can get in and out of the boat, you must follow these rules to ensure that contact with other people is minimised.
Prize Draw
We are pleased to announce we will be holding a prize draw for £50 of Peak UK vouchers (on a minimum spend of £100), there will be two draws, one for open paddlers and one for paddlers in the ranking event. You will get one entry into the draw for each event you enter. Entering both days gives you twice the chance of winning, entering K1 and C1 also doubles your chance!
