Always something you can do to get fitter
Whilst the weather may not be encouraging you outside, there are exercises you can do and here is some information from British Canoeing’s Slalom School Programme.

There are plenty of activities which will support fitness and will help you improve your canoeing/kayaking performance. Take a look at past articles in our Training Zone.
You can also do other sports and activities, Swimming is one of teh best fitness sports of all, no impact, little chance of injury and gets all your muscles working. Running will get your heart rate up and even a good long walk will help or maybe Cycling? But realistically any other physical activity or sport will help, Bouldering is a great exercise as it gets you stretching as well.
