Barrow Results January ’25

First race of the year

A team of 9 Sharks made their way to Barrow-upon-Soar on a crisp Saturday morning to kick the racing calendar off for The Sharks. Four personal best times and one new paddler. A great way to start the year!

The highest finish was Grant Underwood, who came 16th and second senior in a time of 16:34.63 for the 3k course. This earns him his first 1,708 points of the season.

Second Shark back was Neal Underwood in a time of 17:13.87, he was 17th and 3rd V60. He collects 1,649 points.

Ivijah Campbell-Bryan came in 26th place and first Under-14. His time was 19:31.15. Ivijah gets 1,143 points to kick of his 2025 season.

Paddling a slalom boat, Ian Marsh took 20:45.14 to complete the course, he was 28th and 4rd Senior and gets 1,332 points.

Making his first appearance at the Barrow was Nicolas Bozic and his debut time was 21:12.24 is a slalom boat. He came 30th and second U18. 1,291 points.b

Saalih Syed came 33rd and third U12 with a time of 25:44.28, a personal best time for the course, earning 883 points.

In 34th place and first under 10 was Abdurrahman Syed, paddling a slalom boat he collected 780 points and his time of 26:52.17 was a personal best.

Our youngest paddler of the day, paddling a slalom boat, was Abdullah Syed who was first under 8 and 35th over all, his time of 29:43.36 was a personal best. He gets 524 points.

Another personal best came from Maximillian Arbuzov who came 36th and 3rd Under 12. His time was 31:37.69 in a slalom boat, he collects 353 points.

A great day and some great paddling, two age group winners and four personal bests, well done guys, just turning up in the nippy weather is a testament to your character. Many thanks to our supporters, parents and coaches who make it possible to paddle at these events. It is fun for them too. After the race we normally go out for something to eat and have some social time, so why not join us?
