Yes, Harefield is where GB paddlers are training through Covid-19

The Sharks home at Harefield is the place GB paddlers are training, whilst other facilities are shut due to Covid-19.

With the Lee Valley and other artificial slalom course closed due to the Covid-19 crises, GB’s elite athletes and Olympians have needed somewhere to train, and where better than Harefield, the home of The Sharks.

The Sharks are proud of the history Harefield has played in developing and supporting GB paddlers over the years, it has supported medal Olympic Medal Winners, Richard Hounslow and World Championship medal winner Gail Allen in the past and now Bradley Forbes-Cryans is there regularly preparing fo the Tokyo Olympics. And he has been very happy to share the water and pass on his expertise to younger paddlers from The Sharks. Harefield, where history begins.

The site is a fantastic local resource and if you want to make your way in the world of Canoe Slalom, why not come along and try paddling with The Sharks? We run regular course, and train People of all ages to race slalom canoeing and we support you at the events, you do not need any kit as we provide everything, all you need is to want to give it a try. We usually meet at Troy Lake every Monday and Wednesday from 5pm. The Club is expanding its operation here and working to build a top notch slalom team, and we want you to be part of it.
