Amelia wins the battle

AMELIA Combes was crowned first lady and first junior ladies’ in the six mile marathon for Hillingdon Sharks Canoe Club. The club competed at the Battles Bridge Marathon in Essex with Combes topping the pile, finishing in 59 minutes and 30 seconds.

The men’s side impressed with Grant Underwood winning in 41 minutes and 40 seconds, followed by Rob Grundy in third place. Johan Kukkohori won the first junior men’s race in 62 minutes and two seconds, while Adam Stewart claimed top spot in the men’s K1 nine-mile marathon, beating most K2 crews in one hour, nine minutes and two seconds.
