Want To Represent Your Borough – 14th May
We would like as many Shark Paddlers as possible representing the Borough the either live in or go to school in. There are sprint races and a slalom event. In the past we have had LYG winners from The Sharks.
The events are due to take place on Saturday 14th May at the Lee Valley Olympic site.
Slalom Event
The slalom event will be on flat water, so suitable for all standards, if you have paddled at Harefield you will do well here. Details are available here.
The events are for both females and males: the Senior competition is for paddlers in Year 12 and under, with the Juniors being Year 9 and under.
If anybody is interested please contact Neal on 07951 770241 or email canoeing@thesharks.org.uk.
If you paddle at any of our sites and have not tried slalom before, we have plenty of time to get you over to Harefield to get some experience and who knows where it will lead you? We have a great Slalom Team at Harefield being developed and we are always looking for more paddlers and you do not need any kit of experience. Call 07951 770241 or email slalom@thesharks.org.uk for more information.
Sprint Event
The sprint event will be using sit-on-tops over a distance of 50 metres, so anybody can take part in this event. Details are available here.
There are three age categories in the Sprint event, for both females and males. Year 12 and under, Year 10 and under, and Year 7 and under.
If anybody is interested please contact Neal on 07951 770241 or email canoeing@thesharks.org.uk.
We are hosting racing sessions for Sprint (and Marathon) at Southall and in Harlesden, we hope soon at Greenford Quay. These sessions are suitable for all standards, no kit or experience necessary, the are fun and can provide opportunities to get involved in events all over the Country and beyond. For more information call: 07951 770241 or email canoeing@thesharks.org.uk.
