Another wet month

Yet another very wet month affected our schedule in the run up to Christmas, but we managed two events.

The Barrow Wild Water Race was affected by Storm Darragh and heavy rain, meaning the course had to be amended to down and up (water levels were too high to get under one of the bridges). Given the conditions, for safety reason only experienced paddlers were allowed to race. Although the journey there and back was probably the worst part of it!

The weather had calmed for the following weeks Cedric Avery Mini-Marathon Race at Harefield.

Away from the paddling front, the Club have been making plans for 2025 and they are looking good, an outline for Harlesden has been published.

Plans to up grade facilities at Harefield have been made and we hope the work will be completed in 2025.

The Sharks have agreed to run a Division 3 and 4 Slalom at Shepperton in May 2025, alongside the London Wild Water Racing Championships, also hosted by The Sharks.

Plans for two new sites are well underway and will be announced in January, along with a major new development …
