Harlesden Charity Canoe Race

Thursday 3rd October

The Great Harlesden Charity Canoe Race is being held on Thursday 3rd October 2024. This will be an annual challenge event for local (and maybe not so local) companies and organisations to help raise money for charity.

The winning team will each receive a pair of tickets to watch a Queens Park Rangers home match as well as medals and a perpetual trophy is being made for the event.

You can donate directly via a Just Giving Page we have set up, all money we receive via this page with be shared equally between our three nominated Charities:

Queens Park Rangers Community Trust, QPR are the local professional football team and their Community Trust uses football to make a positive difference in our local communities. QPR and The Trust has been very supportive of The Sharks, we both believe in working together.

The Canoe Foundation, the charity arm of canoeing, which, like The Sharks, is dedicated to making paddle sports more accessible to the community.

Brent Food Bank, helping local people through a crisis, Food Banks do an important job in supporting families in times of need; in a civilised, wealthy economy we should not need them, but whilst there are people in need, we know our communities will stand together and help those who need it. And we will always stand with our communities.

The Canoe Race will take place on Thursday 4th October between 12 noon and 2pm, each team needs just four people to participate, we ran a test event earlier in the year, it was a great success and a lot of fun, so now we are working with OPDC and local businesses to make it an annual event.

If you wish to be involved, want to know more, please give us a call/text on 07951 770241 or email: canoeing@thesharks.org.uk.
