Canoeing Sessions held in NW10
During August 2023, we were able to host free paddling sessions in Harlesden thanks to the support and funding of KSP (GLi Urban Life) and we would like to share some pictures of people having faun on the canal.
This has been part of a wider project to bring a thriving canoe club to Harlesden, NW10, working with the Young Brent Foundation, Old Oak Common and park Royal Development Corporation, Canal and River Trust, Brent Council, the local community, and local schools.
These sessions have focused on families, we are in the process of creating a mass participation canoe club, and to do that we need you to come and join us and have some fun. We want to get people of all ages active, we will build a racing section for those who want to compete, we will also cater for those who want to come down and relax, have some fun whilst keeping fit both physically and mentally, the peaceful green corridor really is good for you.
Despite some often less than great weather, we have been having a great time and regularly had over 20 people at each session. This is a good foundation for what we want to do, but we still need more of you.
Come along and get involved, visit our Harlesden Webpage for more information or call/text on: 07951 770241, email: Sprint@thesharks.org.uk.
2023, has been a bit challenging with the works going on at Harlesden Canal Side and we are truly grateful for GLi/KSP for their support in enabling us to keep going. Hopefully teh building work will soon finish and we will be back to normal operations, please keep an eye on our Harlesden Web Page for latest updates.
