It is time to River Race

The Barrow Series

This Wild Water Race is suitable for all standards. It is 3k on a twisty moving stream with no rocks and is a fun way to get into the finest of sports.

Barrow Upon Soar is about 120 miles from our sites in West London, depending on traffic about two-and-a-half hours to drive. The race normally starts at 11am and takes approximately 30 minutes, and you can then either go and relax in one of the fine local establishments and Loughborough has a number of them.

Shark paddlers regularly attend these events and have a good track record going back many years. Check out a previous visit. We will be supporting each event and the first one is Saturday 19th October and you can enter here.

This is a great development opportunity for all levels, beginners get to race an a great safe course, gain useful boat control skills and learn about the way rivers move, and experienced paddlers get a chance to race against other paddlers, so they can see how they are doing. Doing the races regularly can give you a sense of how you are improving and what you need to work on in training. You can use any boat to race, this is a Club that wants to get people active and involved, they welcome anyone who wants to race.

However, we will have Wild Water Racing boats available at all of our sessions if anybody want to try them out.
