Langham Farm Results September 2024

Wild Water and Slalom

A small team of Sharks were racing at Langham Far the weekend, in an old style event with practice and team runs on Saturday, with a Wild Water Race added in for some extra fun, and the individual events on Sunday.

This format of race gives paddlers a lot more time on the water and is really good for development paddlers in the lower divisions. The Hosts, Frome Canoe Club, even provided coaches to support paddlers on the Saturday.

Team Race

Saturday Shark Paddlers, Ivijah Campbell-Bryan and Nicolas Bozich, teamed up with Jack Morton from Viking Kayak Club to take 18th place in the team event on Saturday, with Richard Davis joining up with Poole Harbour to take 12th place.

Wild Water Race

Grant Underwood was the top Shark paddler and is now back on top of The Shark rankings. He came 5th, taking just 50 seconds to complete the course and picked up 1,700 points. He is currently ranked 26th with 5,566 points.

Ivijah Campbell-Bryan was 11th in a time of 1minute and 4 seconds, claiming 1,280 points. His current ranking is 56th (2,404 Points).

Sunday Slalom

The individual race was on the Sunday unfortunately due to rising river levels and they were rising fast, the official competition was restricted to just one run each.

Division 3

Susan Templeton was our only female competitor and she came 9th over all and 3rd Master.

Our top paddler in the Men’s event was Ivijah Campbell-Bryan, who took 13th place (and first J14) just one place above Master Richard Davis, who was 4th Master, but the only one of 85-years-old.

Division 4

Our only Division 4 paddler was Nicolas Bozich, who did not finish on what was becoming very challenging water. Although he did get back on after the event and did a run down the river.

Veterans’

Danny Dalrymple raced the Veterans’ event and was placed 4th.

Well done to everyone for taking part in what was a challenging weekend weatherwise and special thanks to Frome Canoe Club for organising an event in such trying circumstances. We are truly grateful to the clubs that run events, we know the work involved in keeping our sport going and creating fun events for us to attend.
