And on every third Sunday of the Winter months at Harefield, meeting at our base at Troy Lake, home of Rickmansworth Sailing Club, (WD3 9YB). Racing starts below Coppermill Lock, near the Coy Carp at 11am.
There are three race distances:
The 1.5-mile is perfect for beginner’s, starting and finishing below the bridge at Coppermil Lock, offering a perfect introduction to the sport. For the more experienced, the 3.5-mile intermediate race includes 2 portages, while the 6.5-mile race with 5 portages adds an extra layer of excitement.

Medals are awarded to the best paddlers: with the fastest times, and accumulated points throughout the series. With clubs competing the Cedric Avery Winter Series Mini-Marathon shield!

The first race will be a mass start for each distance, the following races will be staggered according to previous race time, These will is not a handicapped races, but the start times will be staggered to ensure everyone gets a good work out, either chasing or being chassed!
All classes of boats welcome, racing boat, K1, K2, High kneelers C1 C2, sit and switch, Open Canoes, General purpose boats, slalom boats, River Racers, sit on tops, Stand Up Paddleboards, just come along and have some fun, get fit(er), just enjoy it. Cost is £6 per boat, cash or card on the day.

Directions:
Troy Lake, West Hyde, which is the home of Rickmansworth Sailing Club, which is accessed from the A412 Denham Road/North Orbital Road, signposted for Rickmansworth Sailing Club. Turn Left at the small MOT garage and, once passed the Marble and Granite Centre, drive along the track for 500m to the Sailing Club. WD3 9YB for SatNav directions.
There are changing rooms and showers etc. and there is a car parking adjacent to the canal.
