The Sharks Slalom team impress at Shepperton
Several Shark paddlers took part in Shepperton division 3 and 4 slalom and showed that The Sharks are a team to be reckoned with.
On Saturday in the ladies division 4 kayak singles; Shark paddlers Tallulah Lacey and Caitlin Edwards took first and second respectively; in the Canoe Singles; Amelia Combes took second place to Shepperton’s Joely Walling. In the canoe doubles, the Sharks took all three top places; Lianna Nolan paired with Amelia Combers were first and gained promotion to division 3. Amelia also partnered Mimi Lacey for second place with Tallulah and Caitlin taking third place.
Johan Kukkohori, was fifth in the men’s K1 and second under 10.
In the division 3 ladies K1 Lianna Nolan was second on Saturday but in Sunday’s event she was clear winner. Her brother Aaron Nolan was second in Sunday’s Men’s Division 3 with James Reed taking third.
In the ladies C1 event, Amelia closed the gap on Joely Walling with another second place; but an interesting combination of Joely and Amelia easily took the division 4 C2 event with James read and Aaron Nolan taking third place. Joely and Amelia were promoted to division 3.
Newly promoted Lianna and Amelia came 4th in their first ever division 3 event.
In Sunday’s Men’s division 4 event: Maciej Karwacki came 7th in his first ever event and was first under 16. Johan Kukkohori was 8th and first under 10 and Michał Karwacki was second under 10 and ninth overall.
