April 14th 2019
The Nene Wavehopper Race takes place on Sunday April 14th 2019 at the Nene White Water Centre in Northampton, NN4 7AA. The Nene, is an artificial whit water course and is a great place to start out on rough water as it is totally safe and contained.
Wavehoppers are very specific boats used in Will Water Racing, however, the rules permit you to race in any 4 metre or shorter boat, so you could race in a slalom boat or a banana boat if you prefer. The event is not until the 14th April, so you have plenty of time to practice and get used to the boats.
Every Monday we are at Harefield from 5pm and we have Wavehopper boats available to try, but you can also train in other boats if you prefer. These sessions are about racing and over the next few sessions we will be focusing on preparing for the Nene. We will also be going to the Barrow-upon-Soar Race on Saturday March the 9th, which would be a good experience and practice for the Nene.
Take a look at the fun, there are plenty more on YouTube/Thesharkscc.
