Paddling sessions suspended
The above email was received by us at the end of June, informing us that we can not operate at Osterley park for most of July. This has been very short notice and unrealistic notice, we have refunded all bookings that were made during this period. The National Trust, must have been discussing this for some while and did not have the courtesy to let us know there maybe a closure of the Park. We fully understand the need for the NT to earn income, particularly after the difficult time they have had. However, as partners who have been operating at Osterley for ten years, we do think we should have been told this may happen. At very short notice we have had to cancel a number of activities, including schools, parties, etc. We are sorry for this (although it is completely outside of our control) and have offered everyone an alternative session at Greenford Quay.
During the enforced closure, we will review our operating arrangements and what we do, as we have no certainty that the NT will not just do this again, and I am sure people will understand that we, as a not-for-profit organisation can not operate with that uncertainty. We still have to over our cost throughout the year in the same way the National Trust does.
