Grant Underwood’s fantastic start to the 2015 slalom season continued at Shepperton last weekend on March 28th and 29th. On Saturday 28th he took second place and on Sunday 3rd.

The event was a division one and two event, meaning that division 2 paddlers are competing on the same course as the division 1 and slalom rules allow any paddler from the lower division who beats over 40% of those in the higher one, to claim maximum points.

Having done this with a comfortable margin, it now leaves Grant top of Division 2, and all grant now has to do is to get a finish at one more slalom to be the first Shark paddler into Division 1, equalling the feat of his father Neal, who claimed a division one spot whilst paddling for Sunderland Canoe Club in 1980.
