Weekend 21st & 22nd October
The Usk Wild Water Race is a national race, on a really nice river in South Wales. The River Usk is about 160 miles drive, taking about three hours, a great weekend event.
There are two races, a mass start non-ranking race on the Saturday, starting at 2pm, giving plenty of time for a drive there on Saturday morning. The mass start race is also an ideal practice run to learn the River. The ranking race starts at 11am on the Sunday morning, enabling us to get back at a reasonable time. Entry fees are £15 or £17.50 on the day, this covers both days.
The Usk can be a great River, depending on water levels and is not suitable for beginners, however, you can do it in a River Racer of a Slalom boat. The race is 7k long, but does have a constant flow on it.
